Bicycle Winner – Whitehouse Fire Co. Spring Craft Show May 5, 2001
Local Businesses Contribute to Success of Craft Show
Whitehouse Station, May 5, 2001: Whitehouse
Fire Co. #1, Inc. hosted their first Annual Spring Craft Show and
Exhibition. A raffle was one of the featured events during the show.
Business owner Gary Fitch, of Garden State Bicycle generously donated a new
bicycle for the raffle. Garden State Bicycle is conveniently located at 405
Route 22 East in Whitehouse Station. This was the second bicycle that Gary
donated to the Fire Company. The first was awarded at the Holiday 2000 Show
that the Fire Company hosted. "Both shows have been major fundraisers
for the Fire Company. We're grateful to all the local businesses who
assisted, including Garden State Bicycle, for their tremendous
support." Says Fire Chief Ed Favre.
A new bicycle was on display at the Firehouse during the exhibition, but
if the bike did not suit your needs, not to worry! Gary allowed the winner
of the bicycle to claim a better fitting substitution. The value of the
displayed bike could be exchanged. Arrangements were made for the winner to
choose their perfect bike at the store. Lauren Smith, of Lebanon (pictured
with her parents, Susan and George) was the proud winner. "Lauren
couldn't wait to tell everyone about her new bicycle. I think she called
everyone she knew on the East Coast!" says Susan Smith.
Additional Features during the exhibit were:
49 talented artists showing fine quality merchandise
A tricky tray auction with donations received from most of the exhibiting
Artists
Refreshments sold throughout the event
A Bake Sale
Local Resident and Businesses Provide Support…

Treasures, King's Super Market, Bagel Junction and Readington Farms.
